Get up…Get excited…Get organized!
Yes I said it! I know you hate it but it’s time you do something about your messy house. And what better time than the present? You know you want to look around and be able to find that lighter you’ve been searching for, or maybe that necklace you lost last month. Well, what are you waiting for?
It’s proven that a messy home brings stress to its owner, so why let it get to you? Oh sure, it’s time consuming and tedious, but so is your mess. Just do it! Make that your motto and you will be on your way to a better, happier life.
Here are some things I like to do to make my cleaning time pass quicker:
Put your favorite music on and dance, clean and organize away. Before you know, your house will be spotless.
Look online for a really cool homemade facial mask recipe, make it and put it on before I start cleaning. This way I feel like I am accomplishing two things at once, and thinking about how awesome I’m going to look after I’m done just makes me feel even better about myself.
Buy cool cleaning utensils. This is my favorite! My laundry room is filled with pink brooms and dusters. I bedazzle them when I feel creative too. Just because I’m doing a chore doesn’t mean I have to hate doing it. It just makes it that much more inviting.
Get friends/spouse involved. Everything is more fun when you have company, even cleaning, trust me on this one. The conversations I have with my roommates when we clean on Sundays don’t happen elsewhere. You’ll be surprised how much bonding time you get just by organizing your house together.
Set a date and just do it. This one is the most important. Knowing that every Sunday morning, you will need to clean the house and quickly organize your closet, etc. is what helps the most. I have clothes lying around all week, but Sunday afternoons my room looks spotless and I love it! It’s the perfect way to start the work week.
Well, those are my best tips. I can’t do the work for you, but I sure hope these help.
