We have a lot of IKEA furniture, too.

Posted into Apartments, Organization

It’s expensive to buy furniture. As a college student, and even as an after-college professional, it’s not really something worth investing in yet. So, like everyone else, most of us turn to the Swedish furniture superstore otherwise known as IKEA. We become way too familiar with LACK and KLIPPAN and EXPEDIT and develop a liking for Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam.

And what happens? All of our apartments end up looking like one variation or another of everyone else’s. We add our own things and touches, but at the end of the day, we all have the same GISLEV rug as everyone else. And that’s OK. But if you’re longing for just a bit of individuality for your Billy bookcase, we’ve got you covered.

Enter Mykea. They love the well-designed furniture of IKEA, but hate that they see it everywhere — and that it all looks the same. So they’ve designed some pretty darn awesome decals for your IKEA pieces that make them a little more personalized.

We found Apartment Therapy about how to customize your IKEA furniture. You can read the article here.

Here’s to doing it a little differently!
